Product Description

High-Speed Concrete Grinding Machine for Demanding Floors

The YM-250 Heavy-Duty High-Speed Concrete Floor Grinder is specially developed for surface conditions that ordinary floor grinders may struggle to process efficiently. Its high-speed single-disc grinding system reaches up to 1,700 RPM, helping contractors open, level and roughen ultra-hard concrete, emery floors, cured floors and other wear-resistant surfaces.

Powered by a 7.5 hp / 5.5 kW motor, the YM-250 combines high rotational speed with approximately 242 lb / 110 kg of grinding pressure. This concentrated cutting action makes it suitable for concrete high-point removal, aggressive surface opening and the removal of old or exceptionally thick floor coatings.

The 9.8 in / 250 mm working width provides a practical balance between removal efficiency and operating control. It is especially suitable for industrial floors, workshops, warehouses, parking areas, basements and renovation projects where operators need aggressive grinding within a compact working area.

Developed for Ultra-Hard Floors and Thick Coatings

Conventional floor grinders may require repeated passes when working on very hard surfaces or thick coating systems. The YM-250 is designed to address these challenging applications with a combination of high tool speed, heavy grinding pressure and interchangeable grinding heads.

Recommended applications include:

  • Leveling high points on ultra-hard concrete
  • Opening dense or cured concrete surfaces
  • Roughening emery and wear-resistant floors
  • Removing old and thick epoxy coatings
  • Preparing concrete before recoating
  • Removing paint, adhesive and surface contamination
  • Creating a textured profile for new flooring systems
  • Grinding factory and warehouse floors
  • Restoring concrete and terrazzo surfaces
  • Preparing marble, granite and compatible stone floors
  • Working in basements and restricted indoor areas

Final tool selection should be matched to the floor material, hardness, coating type and required surface finish.

Adjustable Speed up to 1,700 RPM

The tool-holder speed can be adjusted from 0 to 1,700 RPM. This allows operators to adapt the machine to different grinding heads, floor materials and surface-preparation requirements.

Higher speeds can improve productivity when opening ultra-hard floors or removing difficult coatings. Lower and moderate speeds provide greater control for applications requiring a less aggressive cutting action.

The appropriate operating speed depends on:

  • Floor hardness
  • Coating material and thickness
  • Diamond bond
  • Diamond grit
  • Grinding-head design
  • Required removal rate
  • Desired surface profile
  • Dust-extraction performance

Heavy Grinding Pressure

The machine applies approximately 242 lb / 110 kg of grinding pressure over its compact 250 mm grinding head. This concentrated pressure helps the diamond tools engage hard surfaces and improves the efficiency of high-point leveling and coating removal.

An adjustable counterweight system allows grinding pressure to be adapted to different floors and applications. The brochure specifies an additional counterweight of approximately 30 lb / 14 kg.

Floating Chassis for Smoother Operation

The floating chassis is designed to reduce vibration caused by changes or deformation in the shock-absorbing components over time. It helps the grinding head follow the floor more consistently while limiting unnecessary machine movement.

A stable floating structure can provide:

  • Smoother machine operation
  • Better tool contact with the floor
  • Reduced vibration at the handle
  • More consistent grinding results
  • Improved operator control
  • Less shaking during high-speed operation

Precision Diamond Tool Mounting

The redesigned diamond tool mounting system helps minimize concentricity deviation between the grinding head, tooling and rotating assembly. Reducing this deviation is especially important when the machine operates at speeds approaching 1,700 RPM.

The compatible diamond tools undergo concentricity testing to support smooth, balanced and vibration-free rotation. This helps protect the machine, improve operator comfort and produce a more consistent grinding pattern.

Built-In Socket for a Dust Extractor

The YM-250 is equipped with a single-phase auxiliary socket that can power a compatible dust extractor of up to 2 kW while the grinder is operating. This eliminates the need to route a separate electrical cable to the vacuum in suitable configurations.

The integrated socket is particularly useful in basements and indoor construction areas where access to electrical outlets may be limited.

A 2 in / 50 mm vacuum hose port allows the machine to connect to a compatible industrial dust extractor. Source extraction helps:

  • Capture concrete and coating dust near the grinding head
  • Improve visibility around the working path
  • Reduce dust accumulation on the prepared floor
  • Simplify post-grinding cleanup
  • Support a cleaner indoor working environment

The total electrical load, voltage and connector configuration must be confirmed before connecting a dust extractor.

Suitable for Multiple Floor Materials

Different grinding heads can be installed according to the surface material and required process. With correctly selected diamond tooling, the YM-250 can be configured for:

  • Ultra-hard concrete
  • Cured concrete
  • Emery flooring
  • Wear-resistant industrial floors
  • Epoxy-coated concrete
  • Terrazzo
  • Marble
  • Granite
  • Compatible natural stone

Tooling should always be selected according to surface hardness, coating condition and whether the goal is leveling, opening, roughening, coating removal or surface refinement.

Features

High-Speed Grinding System

The YM-250 reaches a maximum tool-holder speed of 1,700 RPM. This high-speed capability increases cutting action on ultra-hard floors and difficult coating systems, helping complete demanding surface-preparation work more efficiently.

7.5 HP / 5.5 kW Heavy-Duty Motor

A 7.5 hp / 5.5 kW motor supplies the power required for aggressive concrete grinding, high-point leveling and thick coating removal. Single-phase and three-phase configurations are available for different markets and jobsite power supplies.

250 mm Single-Disc Grinding Head

The 9.8 in / 250 mm single-disc working width concentrates the machine’s power and grinding pressure over a relatively compact area. This makes the YM-250 particularly effective for localized leveling, aggressive removal and work around restricted spaces.

110 kg Grinding Pressure

Approximately 242 lb / 110 kg of grinding pressure helps the diamond tools penetrate dense concrete and wear-resistant floors. The combination of concentrated pressure and adjustable speed gives the machine strong removal capability.

Four-Position Adjustable Counterweight

The counterweight can be repositioned to change machine balance and grinding pressure. Operators can adapt the configuration for aggressive coating removal, hard-floor opening, general surface preparation or easier transportation.

The additional counterweight is approximately 30 lb / 14 kg.

Floating Chassis Design

The floating chassis helps isolate vibration and maintain more consistent grinding-head contact. It reduces shaking caused by changes in shock-absorbing pads and supports smoother operation at high rotational speeds.

Low-Concentricity Tool Mounting System

The redesigned diamond tool mounting system minimizes concentricity deviation. Better alignment reduces unwanted vibration, improves machine stability and helps the grinding head run smoothly.

Concentricity-Tested Diamond Tools

Compatible diamond grinding heads are tested for concentricity before supply. This quality-control process helps ensure balanced rotation and vibration-free operation, particularly at higher speeds.

Interchangeable Grinding Heads

Different grinding-head configurations can be installed for concrete, terrazzo, marble, granite, stone and coated floors. This allows one machine to support several surface-preparation and restoration applications.

Built-In LED Work Light

An integrated LED light illuminates the grinding path in basements, warehouses and other low-light areas. Better visibility helps the operator identify high points, coating residue and untreated sections of the floor.

Auxiliary Vacuum Power Socket

The built-in single-phase socket can supply power to a compatible vacuum cleaner rated up to 2 kW. This simplifies dust-extractor connection and reduces the need for an additional trailing power cable.

50 mm Dust-Extraction Port

A 2 in / 50 mm hose port supports connection to an industrial dust extractor. Correctly matched extraction helps control concrete dust during dry grinding and coating removal.

Adjustable Handle and Compact Structure

The handle and machine structure are designed for operating control, transport and storage. The adjustable machine length ranges from approximately 89 to 117 cm according to the handle position.
